Spidey Is Back, Baby
Peter Parker will suit up once again to play everyone’s favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
We learned that Sony has solidified a release date for Spider-Man 4 on its summer 2026 calendar. The yet-to-be-titled film sees star Tom Holland reprise his role as the titular hero. We last saw Holland as Spidey in 2021’s critically and audience-acclaimed Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As of writing, Zendaya is expected to return as MJ. Deadline shares that she and Holland have kept abreast of developments on the project and that new contracts are underway. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Sony Pictures Entertainment chair Amy Pascal will also return as producers.

Destin Daniel Cretton
Furthermore, the movie now has a director. Destin Daniel Cretton, who helmed 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will direct Spider-Man 4. Cretton’s other directorial credits include 2023’s American Born Chinese, starring Academy Award winners Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan, 2019’s Just Mercy and 2017’s The Glass Castle.
As for additional projects on the Marvel front, Cretton will helm an untitled Shang-Chi sequel and the upcoming Wonder Man series.

What’s Next for Tom Holland and Zendaya
Holland is poised to have a busy 2026. In addition to Spider-Man 4, he’ll star in Christopher Nolan’s next project with Universal Pictures, slated for release on July 17, 2026. Zendaya recently starred in Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers to rave reviews. Her next projects include The Drama opposite Robert Pattinson and the biopic Be My Baby.
Spider-Man 4 will sling its way into theaters on July 24, 2026.
