If you sang the above to yourself, you might be a Millennial. But if you’re one of the characters in Yellowjackets, that lyric takes on a whole new meaning, especially in the upcoming season. Paramount unleashed the official trailer for the psychological horror-thriller’s highly anticipated third season. Folks, we’re in for a wild ride.
Here’s a synopsis per Paramount:
“In Season 3, as summer arrives, the Yellowjackets face a fragile victory—the brutal winter that nearly claimed them is finally behind them, but distrust in leadership and tension within the team jeopardize their chances of being rescued. In the present, long-buried secrets from their pasts begin to surface. As the women fight to keep their lives from unraveling, they must confront a chilling question: who are they really, and what dark truths are they hiding from each other and themselves?”

Yellowjackets Season 3
The trailer gives us a better look at newcomer and recurring guest star Hilary Swank, who I’m now more convinced than ever is Adult Melissa. We know there are other survivors. Joel McHale also boards this season as a guest star, but he’s conveniently missing from the trailer. My guess is McHale plays a classmate or perhaps a relation to the main cast. Or I could be completely off base.
Additionally, the trailer delves into the mystery unfolding in the present timeline as the adults learn of a plot to kill them. I’m more intrigued by the ’90s timeline, especially with Teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) assuming the mantle of power.
We already see her grasp for power is tenuous at best as Missy (Samantha Hanratty) and Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) sow the seeds of doubt among the survivors. After all, Natalie purportedly knows where Ben (Steven Krueger) — who burned down their cabin last season — is. Is she really Team Wilderness?

Yellowjackets stars Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins and Simone Kessell. Elijah Wood returns in a recurring role.
Yellowjackets premieres on Friday, February 14, 2025, with its first two episodes on streaming and on-demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan.
